001 ELIA
[ The chasm seems to be doing it’s very best to disrupt everything, but seemingly out of nowhere the computer monitors around the facility flicker to life with a loud buzz.
Sitting in a nondescript room is a young woman, with lanky brown hair, and a prematurely lined face. She has an air of anger about her and when she speaks it is in an accented voice that is not particularly placeable. ELIA has arrived and she doesn’t seem to be particular happy with her new fellow 7’s ]
I see that you’ve all been busy. Which makes me wonder why and only one thing. Why are you fucking with the Chasm? That is obviously what it wants you to do! Why are you giving in to it?
Do you want it out? You have no conceivable notion on what you do! You are playing with things you do not understand!
[ She doesn’t seem in a particular hurry to get off the camera. You might be able to get her to answer some burning questions if you’re smart enough to keep her attention. ]

Like so many other things, this is familiar. The face on it, however, is not.
Teddy wants to smash the screen he's looking at, and though his long-numb palm feels like it's throbbing while his hand remains wrapped around the handle, he does his best to ignore it. ]
Do you understand? [ He's trying to sound polite, but chances are it comes out irritated. ]

She gives a haughty little scoff. ]
Of course, what a stupid question. It breathes and lives. That's all you need to know.
no subject
It lives and it wants blood.
[ A pause. Teddy's not sure why he knows that second half, but it seems-- no, feels. Right. ]
Why was it born?
no subject
It was born when you were born, of course. When we all were. Of course, out of necessity. You know this, in your heart, I am sure.
no subject
It wants to swallow us... doesn't it? [ Because it wants blood, and surely that's what it really means.
Teddy looks up again, and he's not sure how long he'll have this woman to talk to, but. But. ]
Who are you? You said-- said you understand. Have you met the Chasm before? Do you know how to make it happy?
no subject
It is only flesh. Are you really so attached? It eats and that is what it’s purpose.
[ She leans forward, uncomfortably close to whatever recording device she is using. ]
I am no one of importance. Or just as important as you. The Chasm is well known, although this is the first time I have seen it so active. Interesting, no?
no subject
[ But still. Teddy tries to take the frown on his mouth away, replacing it with the soft press of his lips together. ]
This is the first time I've met it.
[ He focuses on whatever body part of hers is zoomed in on the screen. ]
How do you learn more?

[ Suddenly, Elia's lined face breaks into what can only be described as a positively deranged smile. Her part of the conversation might have well been a carefully played illusion of sanity. ]
Perhaps play with it some more and it will be kind with its knowledge, just as it has been with us.
[ The screen suddenly blacks out and the words ʀᴏsᴇᴍᴀʀʏ ᴅɪᴠɪsɪᴏɴ replace Elia's final ghoulish expression. ]
